The Buffalo Bills are riding high after last week’s 35-10 thrashing of the San Francisco 49ers, but not everyone is pleased with how they won in the snow. During a crucial point in the game, it appeared that Bills wide receiver Mack Hollins had tugged on 49ers linebacker De’Vondre Campbell’s dreadlocks. It happened quickly, but the veteran found it difficult to forget. And he believes it should be addressed, both on and off the field.
“He did that (expletive) on purpose,” Campbell explained. “He can’t claim he didn’t. It’s all well, though. We’ll meet one day in the real world.”
The play in question occurred when Buffalo attempted a pass from the Niners’ eight-yard line. Bills quarterback Josh Allen scrambled to his right, and as he approached the end zone, Campbell’s attention shifted from his assignment, Hollins, to the person racing with the ball. When the 49er defender turned away, Hollins pulled Campbell’s hair to stop him. Allen scored nevertheless, and Hollins was not called for a penalty during the play. Campbell stated he wouldn’t forget it anytime soon.
“Just so he knows, if I ever see him, it’s on,” he told me. “He’s got to see me.””One day, we’ll cross paths.” Hollins is currently a bench player for Buffalo’s offense, but his actions may have given the entire club attention that they did not need.
