Since the introduction of the Early Signing Period, college football recruiting has changed significantly. High school recruits are taking their visits earlier, and most of them sign in early December. This shift means there is less excitement on National Signing Day, which can be either positive or negative depending on the perspective.
In recent years, the Virginia Tech Hokies have experienced little drama on signing day. Head coach Brent Pry has managed to maintain the stability of his recruiting class, even as other programs miss out on players and attempt to recruit them just before signing day.
With the 2024 Early Signing Period, Pry received some positive news when three-star cornerback committed to the Hokies.
Jordan Crim is a 6-foot-1, 175-pound cornerback from Camden High School in Camden, South Carolina. His recruitment gained momentum in recent months and flew under the radar for a while. A standout in multiple sports, Crim first visited Blacksburg in September 2023 and received an offer from Virginia Tech in June. Most of his offers came this year, including ones from the Hokies, Duke, Georgia Tech, Vanderbilt, and Mississippi State. Duke, Georgia Tech, and Vanderbilt have recently had strong seasons and are seen as rising programs.
While Crim may be a bit slender for his position, that’s typical for a high school player. He possesses valuable traits like length and speed, making him an underrated addition to the Hokies’ 2025 class. Crim is the 18th commitment for the class, the second cornerback, and the fourth defensive back.
Crim is set to sign with Virginia Tech.
