BREAKING: Three Virginia Tech Top Stars Enter Transfer portal

With just six days left until the transfer portal officially opens, players are beginning to announce their intentions to enter. One team to watch closely this season is Virginia Tech, as head coach Brent Pry is already seeing players declare their plans to transfer for the upcoming year.

Three Virginia Tech defensive linemen enter the transfer portal

Virginia Tech’s defensive line will have a new look in 2025, as several key players have either used up their eligibility or are transferring. Duke transfer Aeneas Peebles, Josh Fuga, and Wilfried Pene have all exhausted their eligibility, and now three younger players are heading to the transfer portal.

On Tuesday, Khurtiss Perry, who transferred to Virginia Tech last spring after entering the portal from Alabama, reportedly announced his intention to transfer, according to Pete Nakos of On3. This move came as a surprise, especially since last month, Associate Head Coach/Defensive Line Coach J.C. Price declined to comment on Perry when asked about him.

Additionally, Malachi Madison and Ishmael Findlayter have also declared their plans to enter the transfer portal. Madison, who redshirted in 2022, played in one game this season during the Hokies’ 31-7 win over Stanford on October 5, where he recorded one tackle. He has three years of eligibility remaining.

Also on Tuesday, in addition to Khurtiss Perry, Ishmael Findlayter from Toronto, Canada, announced via his X account that he is entering the transfer portal. The 6-foot-4, 260-pound defensive lineman played in two games in 2023, recording two tackles and half a sack. After redshirting in 2022, Findlayter will have three years of eligibility remaining.

This is just the beginning for Virginia Tech, as more players are likely to announce their intentions to enter the transfer portal in the coming days and weeks once it officially opens on December 9.
