The Las Vegas Raiders (2-8), currently on a six-game losing streak, face back-to-back AFC West matchups as Thanksgiving approaches. Antonio Pierce’s team will take on the Denver Broncos (6-5) and their third-ranked defense on Sunday before heading to Kansas City for a Black Friday clash with the 9-1 Chiefs.
Before fully shifting focus to Week 12, the NFL delivered some notable news regarding star pass rusher Maxx Crosby. The three-time Pro Bowler, who went without a sack for the third consecutive game last week, was fined a total of $23,072 for two separate violations during the Raiders’ Week 11 game against the Miami Dolphins. Crosby was penalized for unsportsmanlike conduct (taunting) and unnecessary roughness (striking/kicking/kneeing), both occurring in the first quarter.
The NFL issued 19 fines in total for Week 11, the fewest in any week this season.
These latest fines mark the third and fourth penalties for Maxx Crosby this season and the ninth and tenth of his six-year NFL career. Just two weeks ago, he was fined for a late hit on Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow. Since entering the league in 2019, Crosby has accrued over $150,000 in fines.
Despite his recent three-game sack drought, the 27-year-old defensive standout has tallied 6.5 sacks in nine games this season, keeping him on track for his fourth double-digit sack campaign. Crosby is coming off a career-high 14.5 sacks in 2023, solidifying his status as one of the NFL’s premier pass rushers.
