The highly anticipated showdown in Orchard Park is just over 48 hours away, as the Buffalo Bills (8-2) prepare to host the undefeated Kansas City Chiefs (9-0). The Bills aim to hand the Chiefs their first loss since December of last year in what is shaping up to be one of the season’s most exciting matchups.
While some may view the Chiefs’ undefeated status as overhyped, they’ve proven time and again why they’re unbeaten, often pulling out critical plays in key moments—like their narrow escape against the Broncos last week.
This game marks Buffalo’s biggest challenge of the season. Despite their 8-2 record, many labeled 2024 a “rebuilding year” for the Bills, making their current success even more remarkable. Although the Bills have had regular-season success against Kansas City over the past three years, this year carries a different weight.
Given the Chiefs’ recent performances, some might argue the Bills are in a strong position to secure a victory, especially considering how well Buffalo has been playing. However, the task won’t be easy, especially with several key players sidelined.
Earlier this week, head coach Sean McDermott confirmed that wide receiver Keon Coleman would miss Week 11 due to a wrist injury sustained against the Dolphins, with his return likely after the bye week. Additionally, tight end Dalton Kincaid has been ruled out with a knee injury, further limiting Buffalo’s offensive weapons in this pivotal clash.
Buffalo Bills are facing an uphill battle for Week 11
Dalton Kincaid’s absence adds another layer of difficulty for the Bills in their matchup against the Chiefs. Despite a relatively quiet season following significant offseason expectations—especially after Stefon Diggs was traded to Houston—Kincaid has been an important piece of Buffalo’s offense. He’s only recorded two touchdowns this year and hasn’t surpassed 52 yards in a game, but his impact often comes in key moments.
Kincaid has been a reliable chain-mover for the Bills, converting 18 first downs this season, often through tough sideline catches where he turns upfield and uses his physicality to secure crucial yardage. Losing him will force Buffalo to lean more on Dawson Knox and Quintin Morris, particularly in the red zone.
Combined with the absence of Keon Coleman, this is a significant blow to the Bills’ offensive arsenal. To make matters worse, wide receiver Amari Cooper remains questionable for Sunday’s game. If Cooper is unavailable, Buffalo will be left with Khalil Shakir as their primary receiving threat. This puts even more pressure on the Bills to find creative ways to move the ball against Kansas City’s formidable defense.
