The Georgia Bulldogs haven’t had the smoothest season with Carson Beck at quarterback, and help could be on the horizon. Head coach Kirby Smart and his staff are making a last-minute push to flip one of the top quarterbacks in the 2025 class, from his commitment to USC. The Bulldogs are competing against other powerhouse programs, including Colorado, USC, and Indiana, to secure Lewis’s talents.
He is currently ranked by ESPN as the No. 2 five-star quarterback in his class, will be in Athens to watch Georgia’s SEC clash with the Tennessee Volunteers on November 16. Georgia aims to keep the Carrollton High School star close to home, despite recent predictions from On3 and 247Sports suggesting that he may flip his commitment to Colorado and join Deion Sanders.
According to Pete Nakos of On3, “Lewis has not been a priority for Georgia in recent months but has maintained communication with various programs, including Colorado and Indiana.” Lewis recently visited Boulder for Colorado’s game against Cincinnati, and On3 analysts Chad Simmons and Steve Wiltfong have forecasted that he’ll flip to Colorado. On3 estimates Lewis’s NIL valuation at $903,000, making him one of the highest-earning prospects in the 2025 class.
With Beck potentially entering the 2025 NFL Draft, Lewis could be in a position to start as a true freshman if he joins Georgia.
Georgia’s quarterback options extend beyond just recruiting Julian Lewis. They currently have Gunner Stockton, Ryan Puglisi, and Jaden Rashada on the roster as potential candidates to step up as the Dawgs’ next QB1. This depth gives Georgia flexibility, whether or not they secure a flip from Lewis, as they prepare for a new era under center.
