Auburn’s recruiting has been a major storyline this year in both football and basketball, and the trend continues today as four-star point guard prepares to announce his college commitment at 2:30 p.m. CT.
Magwood’s final three choices are Ole Miss, which he visited on August 31; NC State, his in-state option, though he has yet to visit despite living nearby; and Auburn, where he took an official visit in late September.
Currently, 247Sports has not provided an expert prediction for Magwood’s decision.
Standing at 6’1″ and 170 pounds, Magwood is ranked No. 44 nationally and seventh among guards, holding the top spot in North Carolina. According to 247Sports’ Director of Scouting, Magwood is “one of the most naturally talented bucket-getting guards” in his class, known for his ability to create shots and post highly efficient stats, averaging 23 points per game with shooting splits of 53/52/80. Magwood brings a competitive edge, is confident and aggressive, and contributes defensively with 1.7 steals per game.
Bruce Pearl has proof of concept to show Auburn basketball recruits
In short, despite Auburn basketball’s impressive start, adding Magwood would be a tremendous boost for next year’s squad. He’s already drawn comparisons to Auburn’s freshman star Tahaad Pettiford, who has been a game-changer this season.
Kaden Magwood is set to announce his college choice at 2:30 p.m. CT—stay tuned for updates.
