The Buffalo Bills are days away from what may be their biggest regular-season game against the Kansas City Chiefs. The Bills have a number of offensive starters whose statuses are unknown entering the game. One of those starters is offensive tackle Spencer Brown, who missed Wednesday’s walkthrough session due to an ankle ailment. Following the session, Brown spoke with the media about his likely availability on Sunday. “Optimistic for Sunday,” Brown remarked. “The training staff and I are doing an excellent job of optimizing every day. I arrived early in the morning and stayed till 7:00 p.m., or 6:30 p.m. Just making the best use of the time we have. I’m hoping to go on Sunday, but it’s too early to know.
Hopefully, by the end of the week, we will know more. If I can’t, Ryan Van Demark will step in.” Brown received his injury on the last drive of Buffalo’s victory over the Indianapolis Colts. Brown told reporters during his media appearance that he has previously suffered ankle issues.
Brown has established himself as a key member of the Bills’ offense, starting all 17 games in 2023 and every game this season. In the offseason, Buffalo gave Brown a four-year, $72-million contract extension. Through ten games this season, the 2021 third-round pick has only allowed one sack.
If Brown is unable to participate, it might have a significant impact on the game’s outcome, especially since defensive end Charles Omenihu may make his return for the Chiefs.
