BREAKING: Syracuse basketball set to land major commitment for top talented 4-star prospect

The buzz around Syracuse basketball centers on the potential announcement of a major recruiting win, as four-star shooting guard from New York City, prepares to reveal his college choice on Friday. Anthony, son of Syracuse legend and NBA star Carmelo Anthony, has narrowed his decision to Syracuse, Southern California (USC) from the Big Ten, and Auburn from the SEC.

While all three programs remain options, speculation suggests Anthony will choose between Syracuse and USC, having made official visits to both but not Auburn. As of Tuesday, multiple projections from sources like Rivals.com and On3 favored Syracuse, though these predictions aren’t always definitive. Still, many believe the Orange are in a strong position.

Anthony plans to make his announcement during his father’s show at 7 PM in Brooklyn on Nov. 15. If he commits to Syracuse, it could elevate the team’s 2025 recruiting class into the top 10 nationally.

Anthony, currently ranked among the top 35 players in the 2025 class and the top 10 shooting guards nationwide, would join three other Syracuse verbal commitments: five-star forward Sadiq White Jr., three-star wing Aaron Womack, and four-star guard Luke Fennell. White is considered one of the nation’s elite, while Womack and Fennell, with continued strong performances, could see their rankings climb.

Presently, Syracuse’s 2025 class ranks 16th per the 247Sports Composite, 25th via Rivals.com, and 56th from On3. Adding Anthony and further improvement from current commits could push the class into the top 10. Friday’s announcement will reveal if Syracuse succeeds in this highly anticipated recruiting battle.m
