The Carolina Panthers started strong in their Week 10 game against the New York Giants in Germany, but suffered a significant setback in the second quarter. Running back was carted off the field with what’s being described as a foot/ankle injury.
He was injured on a run to the left side and appeared to be in considerable pain. In the NFL, a cart being brought out for a player is rarely a positive sign, and unfortunately, that’s the outcome Sanders faced. Unless there’s an unexpected recovery, Carolina will likely be without Sanders for the remainder of this game and potentially for several more.
Although Miles Sanders has mostly relinquished the starting running back role to Chuba Hubbard, he’s remained a reliable change-of-pace option for Carolina, stepping in when Hubbard needs a breather. Over nine games, Sanders has recorded 134 yards and a touchdown on 36 carries, along with 21 receptions for 98 yards.

Panthers activate safety, outside linebacker for Giants game
The Panthers bolstered their defense ahead of Sunday’s game against the Giants by activating safety Jordan Fuller and outside linebacker D.J. Wonnum to the 53-man roster.
Fuller had been on injured reserve since suffering a hamstring injury during the Week 3 victory over the Raiders.
D.J. Wonnum will make his debut after being activated from the physically unable to perform list, following complications from offseason quadriceps surgery.
The Panthers are also elevating cornerback Caleb Farley and wide receiver Deven Thompkins from the practice squad for Sunday’s game. This marks Farley’s third elevation of the season. Thompkins was also brought up last week to provide additional depth at receiver while Adam Thielen was sidelined with a hamstring injury.
