The Hokies head into Saturday’s matchup with a 3-2 conference record and an overall record of 5-4, having won three of their last four games.
Getting quarterback Kyron Drones and running back Bhayshul Tuten back in action would be a huge boost for Virginia Tech fans. Both players have been key to the team’s offensive success. Drones has passed for 1,447 yards this season, throwing 10 touchdowns and five interceptions. Now in his second year at Virginia Tech after transferring from Baylor, Drones surpassed 2,000 passing yards in 2023. As a dual-threat quarterback, he poses a challenge to defenses with both his passing and running abilities.
Tuten is another crucial part of the Hokies’ offense, amassing 951 rushing yards and 12 touchdowns this season. Viewed as a potential NFL prospect, Tuten’s presence on the field tends to elevate the team’s overall performance. Notably, Tuten and Drones are the top two rushers for Virginia Tech.
