Kansas State has secured a commitment from a highly-rated 2025 linebacker from Nebraska. Rated among the Top 5 players in the state by 247Sports, he decided to join the Wildcats after receiving a summer camp offer and making an official visit this past weekend. Expressing his enthusiasm, he shared, “#Committed,” highlighting his connection with the K-State community and coaching staff, noting their dedication to him and his family.
The 6-foot-4, 220-pound talent, who attends Boys Town High School in Omaha, originally hails from Baltimore, Maryland. Whitaker had long favored Kansas State and hinted in September that he was leaning toward the Wildcats. His mid-season commitment bolsters K-State’s recruiting momentum, likely moving them into the national Top 35 and among the Big 12’s best recruiting classes once his full rating is confirmed.
Recruiting analyst Allen Trieu praised Kansas State’s knack for discovering under-the-radar talent, emphasizing Whitaker’s potential as a versatile player with the athleticism to excel in multiple roles, potentially even as an EDGE if he continues to grow. Whitaker stood out during K-State’s summer Elite Camp, prompting him to de-commit from Northern Iowa. Interest from other schools followed, but Kansas State’s early belief in his abilities proved decisive.
Whitaker, who is also a standout in basketball and track, has made significant strides in his game, as noted by Boys Town head coach Chris Nizzi. His commitment adds depth to K-State’s 2025 class and strengthens their linebacker corps under lead recruiter Steve Stanard.
