Construction worker dies after fall at Virginia Tech

A construction worker was killed and another injured in a fall at Virginia Tech on Wednesday, according to the university.

According to Virginia Tech, the fall occurred around 11 a.m. on November 6 during the wind tunnel renovation project close to the former Randolph Hall on Virginia Tech’s Blacksburg campus.

Because campus construction sites are within the contractor’s supervision, the two workers engaged are not university employees, according to the institution. No names have been published because an inquiry is ongoing.

The institution issued a statement saying, “Virginia Tech extends its deepest condolences to the family of the deceased worker.”
