Bills Becoming What They Feared Most In Brady Era

For nearly two decades, the Buffalo Bills were regularly outmatched by Tom Brady and the New England Patriots. While the Miami Dolphins and New York Jets occasionally had brief moments of success against the powerhouse of the 2000s and 2010s, the Bills consistently struggled against Brady, as evidenced by their 3-33 record against him. Now, however, the tables have turned in Buffalo’s favor.

Gone are the days of being the target for an elite quarterback within their division. Instead, it’s the Bills who boast a top-tier quarterback. Unlike their previous struggles with Brady, it is now the Dolphins who find themselves on the losing end. Buffalo’s narrow 30-27 victory over Miami on Sunday not only completed another season sweep of their divisional rivals but also marked Josh Allen’s 12th career win over the Dolphins since joining the league in 2018, giving him a 12-2 record against them. While this dominance isn’t quite on par with Brady’s historic record against the Bills, Allen’s impact is the closest thing to divisional control the AFC East has seen since Brady left for Tampa Bay and eventually retired.

No matter how competitive the matchups may appear, Allen and the Bills consistently find ways to overcome the Dolphins. This resilience was on display Sunday as Allen passed for over 230 yards and threw three touchdown passes, positioning his team for a crucial victory despite Miami’s desperate need for a win to climb out of their three-game deficit below .500. Ultimately, Tyler Bass’s 61-yard field goal sealed the win. While Miami’s issues within the division persist, Allen has mirrored Brady’s ability to dominate a specific team. Despite the Dolphins entering with a solid strategy, it becomes secondary when the superior quarterback resides on the opposing sideline.
