The Buffalo Bills are trailing the Miami Dolphins 10-6 at halftime in a crucial AFC East showdown during Week 9. The only touchdown of the half came late in the second quarter when Tua Tagovailoa connected with DeVon Achane on a 14-yard pass. Tagovailoa was efficient, completing 10 of 12 passes for 82 yards and a touchdown. Achane led the Dolphins with 62 total yards, contributing as both a receiver and a rusher. The Bills’ defense managed to limit Miami’s star receivers Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle to just six combined yards.
Josh Allen, typically strong against Miami, struggled in the first half, completing 12 of 19 passes for 79 yards without a touchdown and throwing one interception. Interestingly, after starting the season without an interception through seven weeks, Allen has now thrown picks in consecutive games. The interception, which occurred in the red zone, bounced off rookie Keon Coleman’s hands on a slant route; Coleman has yet to make a catch in the game. With Amari Cooper inactive, Khalil Shakir stepped up with 24 yards on four catches.

Defensively, linebacker Dorian Williams leads the Bills with eight tackles, while Greg Rousseau recorded the team’s only sack on Tagovailoa. Cornerback Taron Johnson suffered an arm injury late in the half, and his return is uncertain. For the Bills to pull off a win, they’ll need a big offensive surge in the second half, as they’ve shown in recent weeks.
