Breaking News: Buffalo Bills Rule Out Key Weapon for Dolphins Sunday Matchup

The Buffalo Bills and Miami Dolphins are heading into their Week 9 matchup with a total of 11 players marked with injury designations. The Bills have only ruled out one player who injured his hip during practice. This issue first appeared on Wednesday, as he moved from limited practice to sitting out entirely the past two days. Buffalo’s only fullback, contributes minimally on offense but is heavily involved in special teams, having participated in 21 out of 23 special teams snaps last week.

Among the Bills’ injured players, two wide receivers have questionable statuses. Curtis Samuel, who missed last week’s game due to a pectoral injury, was limited in practice but did not wear a non-contact jersey, leaving his status uncertain. Amari Cooper, a new addition to the Bills, sustained a wrist injury in last week’s game against the Seahawks. Despite a promising debut two weeks ago, he managed only one catch last game, which may have been impacted by the wrist issue.

On the defensive side, cornerback Christian Benford, dealing with a wrist injury, remains a concern. Benford, who started last season over first-round pick Kaiir Elam, could be pivotal against Dolphins receivers Tyreek Hill and Jalen Waddle if he is fit to play. However, his practice status declined throughout the week.

Linebacker Terrel Bernard, who previously missed games due to a pectoral injury and left Week 7’s game with an ankle injury, is expected to play. Head coach Sean McDermott expressed confidence in Bernard’s readiness despite limited practice this week.

For the Dolphins, tight end Julian Hill, defensive end Zach Sieler, and cornerback Kader Kohou are out. Safety Jevon Holland is listed as doubtful after a knee injury in last week’s game, with limited hope for his participation Sunday. Miami’s injury list also includes wide receiver River Cracraft, fullback Alec Ingold, and cornerback Storm Duck, all marked as questionable.

The Dolphins do have Tyreek Hill, who will play despite a foot injury.

Final decisions on downgrading any players labeled as doubtful or dubious must be made at least 90 minutes before the game. That means we’ll know more at 11:30 a.m. EST on Sunday morning.
