The Buffalo Bills are 6-2, hold a four-game lead in the AFC East, and rank in the top ten in points scored and points allowed. However, not everyone in the organization is delighted. As the Buffalo Bills prepare for their Week 9 game against the Miami Dolphins, which could extend their division lead to an insurmountable five games, one of their experienced players appears to be looking for a new opportunity elsewhere. “Veteran Buffalo safety Mike Edwards is available and would like to go somewhere he can play (he has been a steady inactive),” ESPN Insider Jeremy Fowler noted in his weekly ‘NFL buzz’ report.
Edwards is a two-time Super Bowl winner who had started 28 career games entering the 2024 season. He signed a one-year contract with the Bills in March after the team overhauled its defensive backfield. Micah Hyde and Jordan Poyer both left during free agency as the Bills sought to improve the position’s youth and speed. Edwards has been a healthy scratch for the majority of the regular season, and the lack of playing time has taken its toll on the veteran.
And it appears that he is more than willing to arrange a move outside of the Buffalo area if it means helping another club win.
