In his six seasons in the NFL, Bills defensive lineman Ed Oliver has established himself as one of the finest at his position, a dependable tackle who has started for Buffalo since his rookie year and was awarded a four-year, $68 million contract last summer. In the short time he shared the field with Tom Brady while Brady was playing for the Patriots and subsequently the Buccaneers, he became a well-known Brady adversary. Oliver landed two hits on Brady during his debut season in Buffalo. After one of those hits, Brady attempted to trip Oliver as he stood up. Later, in 2021, while Brady was in Tampa Bay, the two had another altercation.
According to Chron.com, after Brady was hauled down on a sneak attempt, Oliver “stepped over the Buccaneers quarterback, which appeared to infuriate Brady.” Brady, 44, jumped up and nearly toppled Oliver, who swung his arm at the quarterback. Brady then drove his body against Oliver, who responded with a two-handed shove before the two were separated.” Andrews discussed her contact with Oliver before Sunday’s game against the Seahawks, which was broadcast by Fox and featured Brady as the color analyst, on the “Calm Down” podcast she co-hosts with fellow broadcaster Charissa Thompson. “I got to speak with Ed Oliver, who is a dream. “He’s our kind of guy,” Andrews remarked.
“His responses were excellent; I even saved my interview since he was so entertaining. He approached us pregame–it’s interesting, since this is what we do on the field before the game, chat to all the players, and so on. And I’m used to running around and getting stuff from the wide receiver coach, so this year I’m trying to show Brady around a little bit. Because he has people pursuing him everywhere.”

Andrews stated that she pulled Brady away from a conversation on the field to speak with Oliver, whom Brady may not have been happy to meet.
But Oliver was ready with a polished bit of trash talk that acknowledged the two’s previous hostility. Andrews went on: “So Ed walks over, and I am like, ‘Hey, hey, hey, Kevin Burkhardt, Erin Andrews, Tom Brady.'”And he says, ‘Oh yes, Tom. ‘I know you. He approaches and asks, ‘Hey, you miss me?’ And Kevin and I exclaimed, ‘Oooooh,’ it was so good.” The Bills, of course, demolished Seattle, 31-10, with Oliver recording four tackles and a quarterback hit.
