The Cleveland Browns and Baltimore Ravens head into their Week 8 matchup dealing with significant injury challenges. The Browns are attempting to make something of their 2024 NFL season with Jameis Winston stepping in as the starting quarterback and Ken Dorsey taking over play calling. Meanwhile, the Ravens aim to maintain their momentum.
On Friday, Cleveland ruled out four players:
OL Jedrick Wills
LB Jordan Hicks
RB Jerome Ford
S Ronnie Hickman
A major concern for the AFC North matchup was WR Zay Flowers. The Ravens ruled out three players on Friday and added CB Nate Wiggins to the injury report:
RB Rahseen Ali
RB Keaton Mitchell
CB TJ Tampa (now on injured reserve)
Additionally, starting cornerback Marlon Humphrey is doubtful for the game. As for Flowers, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported that he is expected to play. A few hours later, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reported that the team would assess Zay Flowers during a pregame workout.
The Browns need every advantage they can get to potentially pull off an upset, even as fans remain divided on whether the team should be tanking. Regardless of Flowers’ status, Baltimore boasts significant offensive firepower.
We likely won’t have any additional updates on Flowers before the inactive reports are released.
