Latest Update: Ravens Top Star Receives A Severe Fine By The NFL

Ravens linebacker has been fined $16,833 for an alleged hip-drop tackle on Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Chris Godwin during Monday night’s game, as confirmed by a source to The Baltimore Sun on Friday.

This incident resulted in a severe ankle injury for Godwin, which may sideline him for the rest of the season. Smith has three days to appeal the fine after receiving notice from the NFL.

After that, a hearing will be arranged, and the case will be handled by one of the league’s current appeals officers: Derrick Brooks, Ramon Foster, Kevin Mawae, or Jordy Nelson, all of whom are jointly appointed and compensated by the NFL and the NFL Players Association. Ravens head coach John Harbaugh refrained from commenting on whether he considered it a hip-drop tackle.

Ravens’ Injury Report Reveals Break for Browns

The Cleveland Browns aim to end their five-game losing streak this Sunday against the Baltimore Ravens. Despite facing challenges in scoring this season, the Browns will feature a revamped offense for this matchup. With Deshaun Watson out for the rest of the season, backup quarterback Jameis Winston will lead the team, and offensive coordinator Ken Dorsey will take over play-calling duties.

The Browns could benefit from a favorable situation on offense, as All-Pro cornerback Marlon Humphrey is listed as doubtful due to a knee injury. Humphrey left the Ravens’ game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers early and did not return after making two interceptions in the first half.

Currently, he is tied for second in the league with four interceptions this season, along with eight pass defenses and 33 tackles, marking one of the best seasons of his career. If Humphrey is unable to play, the Browns could gain a significant advantage against a Ravens passing defense that has struggled this season.
