Rucker is one of 20 semifinalists for this award, which recognizes the nation’s top college football leaders.
The Jason Witten Collegiate Man of the Year Selection Committee has named the semifinalists for this year’s award, which will be presented for the ninth time this winter. All 20 semifinalists have a track record of leadership, demonstrating great courage, integrity, and sportsmanship both on and off the field.
The UNC football standout has a reputation as a powerful pass rusher, but his contributions to society are just as essential as how many times he hits the opposing quarterback.
Rucker has had a significant impact on his local neighborhood during his five seasons with the UNC football program. As stated in the official news release, Rucker goes above and above to assist others.
Here are some of the ways that he has participated in the community:
The UNC football player donated personal hygiene supplies from his personal funds to fifth-grade students at his former elementary school who were undergoing physical changes in their bodies. He held a seminar for fifth graders, mostly boys, to educate them about this stage of their life. During the summer, he attended FCA Huddle Leadership Training to become a mentor to young men, assisting them in discovering or rediscovering their faith in Christianity. He previously received the ACC Top Six in Service Award, which recognizes student-athletes’ commitment to community service.

While we typically admire student-athletes’ sports achievements, it is equally vital to recognize how they contribute to their communities. Kaimon Rucker is an excellent example of this, since he is the epitome of what a student-athlete should strive to be.
The eighth annual Jason Witten Collegiate Man of the Year Award will be given out on February 15, 2025, during an event in Frisco, Texas.
