McCullough, a former minor league player and manager, has served as the Dodgers’ first base coach since 2021. His name frequently arises whenever a team is in search of a new manager. He previously interviewed with the Cleveland Guardians for their managerial vacancy but lost the position to Stephen Vogt. Additionally, he was considered as a possible replacement for Craig Counsell in Milwaukee before the team opted for Pat Murphy. McCullough has also had interviews for managerial openings with the Kansas City Royals and the New York Mets.
