News Flash: Green Bay Packers Confirms The Signing Of Highly-Rated Top Experienced Coach

Top Coach has joined the Green Bay Packers’ coaching staff just after being let go as the head coach of the New York Jets.

Packers head coach Matt LaFleur mentioned that he will take on a “fluid” role, which reportedly involves the defensive-minded Saleh providing insights and perspectives to Green Bay’s offensive team, including LaFleur, who is responsible for calling plays.

He observed the Packers’ offense during practice, and LaFleur noted that he would continue to work with the team on Thursday in preparation for their game against the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday.

LaFleur and Saleh have a long-standing friendship, having been graduate assistants together at Central Michigan University in 2004. Saleh played a key role in helping LaFleur secure his first NFL coaching position in 2008 by persuading then-Houston Texans head coach Gary Kubiak to hire him as an assistant.

Saleh was dismissed by the Jets on October 8, shortly after a 23-17 loss to the Minnesota Vikings in London, which left New York with a 2-3 record.

The Jets had hoped to break a 13-year playoff drought, the longest in the NFL, especially with quarterback Aaron Rodgers returning from a torn Achilles suffered in the season opener. However, the team struggled in the first five weeks, and the defeat to Minnesota led owner Woody Johnson to fire Saleh after a three-plus-year tenure in which he compiled a 20-36 record. Since his departure, New York has gone 0-2 under interim coach and defensive coordinator Jeff Ulbrich, losing four consecutive games.

The Jets (2-5) and Packers (5-2) do not face each other during the regular season.
