Breaking: Sacramento Kings Confirms Major Ground Breaking Blockbuster Deal

In anticipation of the Sacramento Kings’ home opener, the team announced a multi-year jersey patch partnership with Reviver, the world’s first digital license plate and connected vehicle platform. Beginning this season, the Reviver logo will be featured on the left front strap of player jerseys.

Reviver, which is backed by the Black Star Fund—a Black-led venture capital firm based in Sacramento—will also serve as the official innovation partner for the Kings and Golden 1 Center. Additionally, they will be the presenting partner of Capitalize: Technology and the exclusive digital license plate provider for the Sacramento Kings.

“This jersey patch partnership with Reviver continues the Kings’ longstanding tradition of leveraging our global platform to promote innovation and technology,” said Sacramento Kings Owner and Chairman Vivek Ranadivé. “It’s especially exciting to highlight a local company that participated in our Kings Capitalize program. This marks just the beginning of our collaboration, and we are eager to support Reviver in its mission to modernize the driving experience.”

“Partnering with the Sacramento Kings as a jersey patch collaborator presents an amazing opportunity for Reviver to promote innovation and diversity in technology,” said Reviver Founder and Chief Strategy Officer Neville Boston. “Both Reviver and the Kings have a forward-thinking approach, continuously pushing boundaries in our respective fields. This collaboration enables us to elevate our brand on a national scale and emphasize the significance of tech-driven solutions that reflect the diverse and dynamic communities we serve. Together, we proudly represent Sacramento’s future and its leadership in innovation.”

“As an investment firm committed to hands-on business development for growth, we are thrilled to support our portfolio company, Reviver, and to have played a role in securing this groundbreaking partnership with the Sacramento Kings,” said Kwame Anku, Founding Managing Partner of the Black Star Fund. “This partnership demonstrates the power of collaboration, bringing together Sacramento-based businesses across various industries, all united in a shared mission to drive economic growth while supporting our vibrant community.”

This partnership makes Reviver the first Black-founded technology jersey patch partner in the NBA. As part of this collaboration, Reviver will serve as the presenting partner of the Kings Capitalize: Technology competition, which was launched in 2016 as the NBA’s first crowdsourced startup competition. Reviver participated in the fourth annual Capitalize: Technology competition in 2019, where founder Neville Boston connected with Kwame Anku, the Founding Managing Partner and Chief Investment Officer of the Black Star Fund. Their collaboration has continued over the years, leading to Reviver’s full production.

Headquartered in Granite Bay, California, Reviver was founded with the goal of modernizing and streamlining the vehicle registration renewal process. The company transforms traditional license plates into connected vehicle solutions. Reviver’s RPLATE offers consumers a battery-powered digital license plate for convenience, while commercial businesses benefit from a hard-wired solution designed for efficient fleet management, both accessible through a mobile or web app. Reviver’s digital license plates are currently legal for sale and DMV registration in California and Arizona, with additional states in various stages of adoption.

Through this partnership, the Kings and Reviver, supported by the Black Star Fund, will invest in the Sacramento community to advance technology and innovation in the region. Reviver will also support the Sacramento Kings’ community initiatives and efforts related to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
