Pittsburgh has secured consecutive wins following their Week 7 victory over the New York Jets last weekend. The Steelers had a slow start but capitalized on key turnovers and a blocked field goal to shift the momentum of the game, allowing Russell Wilson to shake off some rust in the first half.
With a strong 5-2 record, most fans aren’t focusing on the 2025 NFL Draft just yet. However, there are still plenty of prospects who could make an impact on the Steelers’ roster right now and improve their talent. With numerous free agents set to hit the market after the season, Pittsburgh will have several positions to address, and this mock draft outlines a strategy to meet those needs.
Steelers mock draft round 1: Ashton Jeanty, RB, Boise State
Despite Ashton Jeanty’s unexpected loss to the Steelers in the first round, this mock draft got off to a solid start. He is quite unlikely to be selected this far in the draft, but Pittsburgh would be thrilled to have him. After the season, Najee Harris will depart, and the Steelers might benefit from having a top running back like Jeanty. He is a strong candidate to win the Heisman Trophy and is producing at an incredible clip.
Steelers mock draft round 2: Kobe Hudson, WR, UCF
He began his career at Auburn before moving to UCF, and while he has consistently put up respectable numbers, he really came into his own last season. Steelers mock draft round 5: Charles Grant, OT, William & Mary
You’d better trust Drafting a player from his alma mater would be Mike Tomlin’s dream. As an offensive tackle, Charles Grant is extremely athletic. If necessary, he could play nearly every position on the offensive line. Developing Grant into a swing tackle who could someday start would be a fantastic opportunity. The Steelers add a high-quality addition to their youthful offensive line.
Steelers mock draft round 7: Nazir Stackhouse, DT, Georgia
The necessity along the defensive line has decreased as a result of Cam Heyward’s outstanding play this season. In round seven, they push that need to their first pick by selecting Nazir Stackhouse.
