BREAKING: NFL quarterback gets in car accident with family, being evaluated by team doctors

Carolina Panthers quarterback Andy Dalton was engaged in a minor car accident in Charlotte that did not require hospitalization.

A team spokeswoman confirmed to The Charlotte Observer on Tuesday evening that the 36-year-old Dalton, his three children, and the family dog were heading westbound on Sardis Road near Providence Road when the collision occurred.

Emergency medical workers did not evacuate anyone from the Dalton family, including Dalton’s two kids, Nash and Noah, and daughter, Finley.

The quarterback is “being evaluated by team medical personnel,” according to the team spokeswoman, who added that those are the only details the organization will release at this time.

Dalton’s accident was reported soon after 4:30 p.m. Tuesday in a social media post featuring a photo of Dalton exchanging information with first responders. The posted snapshot shows that airbags were deployed.

Dalton has been with the Panthers for the past season and a half after signing in March 2023. He has started the last five games for the Panthers, and head coach Dave Canales said on Monday that Dalton will start on Sunday against the Denver Broncos.
