Pittsburgh Steelers running back Najee Harris has been listed as injured due to a rib ailment. Harris did not practice, but he began getting veteran days on Wednesday as the team’s primary running back.
Harris just had his greatest game of the season, rushing for 106 yards on 14 carries and a touchdown against the Las Vegas Raiders defense. The injury is not thought to be significant, and Harris is expected to participate.
He was one of several players who did not practice, including outside linebacker Nick Herbig, running back Cordarrelle Patterson, and safety Damontae Kazee.
Meanwhile, tight end MyCole Pruitt and outside linebacker Alex Highsmith are making progress in their recovery from injuries, and both appear to be on track to play against the New York Jets.
Harris has an average of 3.9 yards per rush, but the organization is hopeful his breakout performance against the Raiders can restart his season and the squad’s previously stagnant running game.
