BREAKING: McDaniel Reveals Stunning New Injury Concern for Dolphins

The Dolphins are already short-handed at outside linebacker, and now they have another injury at the position. The starting outside linebacker, has an unexplained ailment and is “day to day,” according to Mike McDaniel. McDaniel declined to say whether Ogbah will play Sunday, but did say he is “doing well.” Ogbah, who has two sacks this season, was not seen at the Dolphins’ last two sessions, on October 8 and Monday. However, he returned to practice on Wednesday; the media is only allowed to witness for a few minutes, so it is unknown whether he was a limited participant.

The Dolphins made no announcement about Ogbah’s injury during Miami’s previous game; the extent of the ailment will most likely be revealed in the team’s late-afternoon injury report.

The Dolphins currently have four healthy edge players, none of whom have recorded a sack this season: rookie Chop Robinson, Quinton Bell (who played only one snap against New England), Tyus Bowser (who joined the team two weeks ago), and Mo Kamara, who has yet to play a snap in his rookie season. Jaelan Phillips is out for the season with a knee injury, and Bradley Chubb and Cam Goode are still on PUP following late-season knee injuries, with neither fit to practice.

Meanwhile, running back De’Von Achane is going through the concussion protocol “with all things positive,” according to McDaniel. “We feel good where he’s at.” Safety Jevon Holland’s status for Sunday’s game is unknown; if he plays, he will most likely wear a protective covering over his left hand, which is broken. McDaniel stated that Holland wants to play, but that he will be responsible with the team and not force a round peg into a square hole. But he understands… we’re better off with him playing. It would not be surprising if safety Jordan Poyer is out for the second game in a row due to a shin ailment.

River Cracraft, a receiver on injured reserve who is now eligible to return, is still unable to practice due to a preseason shoulder injury. When asked when he would be able to practice, McDaniel replied, “I don’t see it this week.” It’s a week-to-week deal; I’m encouraged by his improvement.” McDaniel addressed more issues: ▪ He did not provide an update on Tua Tagovailoa’s practice schedule for next week. Tagovailoa is eligible to begin practicing next Wednesday and play against Arizona on October 27.

“When the next step occurs, the next step occurs,” McDaniel said, noting that neurologists have provided hopeful and constructive feedback earlier this week. “You have to allows days to progress for evaluation of where you’re at and have a proper assessment.” Tagovailoa apparently hasn’t experienced any symptoms, implying that a return is imminent unless he has a setback or a doctor says something concerning. ▪ What is McDaniel’s take on the Jets’ trade for wide Davante Adams and the Bills’ trade for WR Amari Cooper? “I’m not the kind to say, ‘Oh man, someone got somebody.’… You must defeat any team, on any day, at any stadium.

The Colts plan to play quarterback Anthony Richardson over Joe Flacco against the Dolphins, unless he suffers a setback from a hip/oblique ailment that has kept him out for the past two weeks. “He’s a cool player to watch, a problem for defenses,” McDaniel said about Richardson. “He can accomplish a lot of things if you let him. “Really big, fast, and has a cannon.”

PRACTICE REPORT

Achane appears to be close to completing the concussion protocol; he was practicing without a red non-contact jersey. Holland, whose left hand was severely wrapped, participated in parts of the session that were open to media; he caught two passes with his right hand rather than the injured left hand.

But he dropped a third pass, which he attempted to collect with his right hand. He also declined to participate in a tackle drill with the other defensive backs. Poyer was on the field wearing tights on both legs. As previously said, Ogbah returned to practice. Calais Campbell, a defensive lineman, and Terron Armstead, a left tackle, were not seen; they usually relax on Wednesday.
