Breaking: LSU Lands Blockbuster Commitment For Another Four Star Player

LSU Men’s Basketball has added four-star point guard to its 2025 recruiting class. Coach Matt McMahon and the Tigers secured a commitment from Reece, a 6-foot point guard from Orlando, Florida, who is ranked among the top 70 players in the country. He chose LSU over Providence and Cincinnati during an Instagram Live announcement.

Reece took his official visit to LSU in late September but waited until after visiting Providence to finalize his decision. He praised his experience at LSU, mentioning that players he admires, like Antonio Blakeney and Ben Simmons, attended the school. “It was a cool visit,” Reece stated, expressing excitement about the opportunity to wear the jersey. He shared a close bond with Blakeney, referring to him as a big brother who has provided valuable advice and mentorship.

Assistant coaches David Patrick and Tim Kaine played significant roles in Reece’s recruitment, but the entire coaching staff, including Coach McMahon, was involved in securing his commitment. Reece is currently ranked as the No. 70 player and the No. 13 point guard in the 2025 class. He noted the consistent communication from the coaching staff, which made him feel like a priority for the program.

With Reece’s commitment, LSU now has three top-75 recruits, joining Pennsylvania forward Matthew Gilhool and California shooting guard Mazi Mosley in the 2025 class. Before Reece’s decision, LSU ranked No. 14 nationally, but his commitment is expected to propel them into the top 10, as they continue to build a strong recruiting class. This marks the second consecutive year that LSU is poised to finish with a top 15 class under Coach McMahon, who has focused on recruiting and developing high school talent. The Tigers enter the 2024-25 season with increased expectations following a 9-9 SEC record last year, as they gain momentum both on the court and in recruiting.
