Breaking: Pittsburgh Steelers Confirm Serious Injury Setback to Key Star

Pittsburgh Steelers rookie center left Sunday’s game due to an ankle injury. The injury occurred in the third quarter when a defender rolled up on his ankle, prompting his exit. Initially, he was listed as questionable to return, but was later downgraded to doubtful and did not re-enter the game.

Head coach Mike Tomlin confirmed the injury as an ankle issue but did not provide further details, indicating more evaluation was needed. There hasn’t been any significant concern raised by those close to the team. Although some speculation on social media suggested a potentially serious injury, no concrete information has emerged.

It’s possible the Steelers delayed further tests until returning to Pittsburgh, and updates should come soon. Frazier has been a standout on the offensive line, starting since day one and playing every snap until his injury. As one of the team’s key players, his absence could be felt if he misses time.

The Steelers have two games before their bye week, and Frazier’s availability remains uncertain. Based on his reaction when the injury occurred, it wouldn’t be surprising if he is sidelined for a while, though that is only speculative.

If Frazier is unable to play, Ryan McCollum, who filled in during the final part of the game, is expected to take over at center. Spencer Anderson would serve as the backup, and the team may need to look for additional depth.

The Steelers entered the 2024 season hoping for improvement after last year’s early playoff exit against the Buffalo Bills. The team made several offseason moves to bolster the roster, but questions still linger about the depth chart and the quarterback situation, particularly whether Russell Wilson will reclaim his starting role when healthy or if Justin Fields has taken over.

As the season progresses, there are still many uncertainties, but the Steelers hope to fill the gaps in their lineup and move forward positively.
