Breaking: Notre Dame Lands Blockbuster Commitment For Another Four Star Player

Notre Dame Fighting Irish basketball head coach Micah Shrewsberry is on an incredible streak that any coach would be thrilled to experience. What makes it even more impressive is that the players he’s been recruiting are some of the top prospects in their respective classes.

The streak continued, as Shrewsberry secured yet another recruiting victory. This makes it the fourth commitment for the Irish. In other words, Shrewsberry has achieved in 10 days what most coaches would be thrilled to accomplish over two or three months.

Four-star center is the newest addition to the Notre Dame Fighting Irish’s recruiting success. He committed, just hours after recruiting analysts noted that his decision was imminent.

Hailing from North Dakota, Ahneman joins Notre Dame’s impressive No. 4-ranked recruiting class nationally. This class also includes five-star small forward Jalen Haralson (ranked No. 13 nationally), four-star small forward Ryder Frost (No. 83), and four-star power forward Brady Koehler (No. 92 overall), according to On3.

Notre Dame Fighting Irish get another recruiting win

Ahneman was drawing significant interest from Big Ten programs and had planned official visits to Minnesota and Iowa for October.

It seems unlikely that those visits will happen now, although it’s important to remember that recruiting has evolved. Winning a commitment battle doesn’t always guarantee a long-term victory.

Shrewsberry will likely continue to stay vigilant, knowing how quickly a player’s decision can change. But for now, the Notre Dame Fighting Irish basketball coach can savor an impressive hot streak.
