Breaking News: Dolphins Set to Lose Top Experienced Star to Bitter Rivals

Three-time Pro Bowler is set to make his debut with the Miami Dolphins in Week 5, though a trade might be on the horizon. Miami began the season with Super Bowl ambitions, but nearly everything has gone off track. After a close win over a struggling Jacksonville Jaguars team, the Dolphins lost their starting quarterback, Tua Tagovailoa, late in a heavy defeat to the Buffalo Bills. Now, with Skylar Thompson and Tyler Huntley at the helm, Miami heads into Week 5 with a 1-3 record and one of the league’s least effective offenses.

The Dolphins’ struggles will be put to the test when they face the New England Patriots. New England had a strong start, surprising the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 1 and narrowly losing to the Seattle Seahawks in Week 2. However, things quickly unraveled, as the Patriots endured crushing defeats in Weeks 3 and 4. If the Dolphins can’t manage a win against New England, it might signal the need to shift focus to 2025. This could also mean a trade for Odell Beckham, as multiple contending teams would likely be interested in acquiring the experienced receiver.

Dolphins Could Trade Odell Beckham to Chiefs, Ravens, Saints If They Lose to Patriots

Let’s be clear: Odell Beckham isn’t the top trade target for teams in need of a wide receiver. Contending teams are likely eyeing players like Davante Adams, Amari Cooper, or even Cooper Kupp. However, there’s a limited pool of wide receivers available, and Beckham could be a solid backup option for teams that miss out on those elite players. Though he had a slow start last year, he wrapped up his one season in Baltimore with 35 catches for 565 yards and three touchdowns. While he may not be the star he once was, Beckham can still be effective in the right role.

The Baltimore Ravens might be the best landing spot for Beckham. He spent the 2023 season in Baltimore, showcasing some impressive performances in the latter part of the year. Although he played well, the Ravens, dealing with financial constraints, couldn’t re-sign him and instead hoped Rashod Bateman would fill the gap. So far, that hasn’t worked out, and the team still needs a strong complement to Zay Flowers, their 2023 first-round pick. Beckham is already familiar with the offense and has a good rapport with Lamar Jackson, which would allow him to contribute right away. Since Miami covered his signing bonus, the Ravens should have enough financial flexibility to bring him back for another season.
