Buffalo Bills Player Has Personal Beef With Stefon Diggs

Houston Texans wide receiver Stefon Diggs is preparing to face his former team, the Buffalo Bills, on Sunday. However, not everyone on the Bills’ sideline may have fond memories of him. Diggs was quarterback Josh Allen’s primary receiving target during his time with Buffalo from 2020 to 2023, amassing 445 catches for 5,372 yards and 37 touchdowns. A four-time Pro Bowl selection, Diggs led the league in receptions and receiving yards in 2020. The 2015 fifth-round pick by the Minnesota Vikings also had some notable controversies during his four years with the Bills.

One memorable incident was his outburst on the sideline during the Bills’ 27-10 loss to the Cincinnati Bengals in the 2023 Divisional Round. He also had a tense moment in the 2023 offseason when a coach asked him to leave during OTAs. Despite these moments, Allen has only expressed positive sentiments about Diggs ahead of their matchup, avoiding giving the 3-1 Texans any additional motivation.

“I’ve got a lot of love for (Diggs). I still do,” Allen said via the Bills’ website. “What he did for me in my career and for the Buffalo Bills won’t be forgotten, especially by me.”

Not everyone shares the same warm feelings toward Diggs, though. According to Tim Graham of The Athletic, a former Bills teammate described Diggs as having a negative locker room presence, saying, “He could suck the energy out of any room.” However, Diggs seems to have settled well in Houston’s locker room after four weeks.

The Texans and Bills are set to battle on Sunday, with both teams aiming for a 4-1 record and an early edge in the AFC playoff race. Diggs, for his part, isn’t looking to create controversy ahead of the game. According to ESPN, he acknowledged that some in Buffalo might hold feelings about his time there, but his focus is on winning.

“Block out the noise,” Diggs said. “A lot of people will have opinions about this and that, and I’m not mad about it. I just want to go 1-0. Buffalo is a good team with a lot of guys that fly around on defense, so I’m looking forward to it.”
