Breaking: Louisville Land Blockbuster Commitment for Highly Rated 4-Star Linebacker

In late August, the University of Louisville made an offer to Armwood High School linebacker Kellan Wiley from Seffner, Florida. He has over 20 scholarship offers on the table and is scheduled to travel in town on Friday. He will attend the SMU game on Saturday afternoon and spend time with the coaches.

The 6-foot-4, 225-pounder is set to visit USC next weekend, as well as Alabama and Miami. Wiley is considering prominent institutions such as the University of Louisiana, Miami, Alabama, Florida State, USC, Ohio State, and Oregon.

Wiley, who played for Tampa Hillsborough during his junior season, is one of Florida’s hottest young players.

“I’m blessed and grateful,” Wiley told Gaby Urrutia of 247Sports’ InsideTheU during a recent interview at his school. “I had offers from three or four Power 5 institutions, but once I came here, things immediately took off. I believe that was a result of being around (Miami running back commit Girard Pringle) and (Georgia wide receiver commit Tyler Williams), both of which are true Power Four recruits, and having Power Four eyes on me. I’m privileged and appreciative for the opportunity to play in this area with folks that share my passion for the game.

Wiley concluded his junior season at Hillsborough with 82 tackles, two sacks, and an interception. In five games this season, Wiley has 31 tackles, three quarterback hurries, two pass deflections, one interception, one tackle for loss, and one sack.

Wiley is a 4-star talent according to the 247Sports Composite. He is the nation’s No. 369 overall prospect, the No. 39 linebacker, and the No. 53 prospect in Florida.
