Breaking News: UVA Lands Commitment for Another Top Talented Star

The talent made his verbal commitment to pursue his academic and career at the University of Virginia. He appears to be the Cavalier men’s first commitment from the 2026 graduating class.

Davis has won the 200 free and 100 fly events in the Minnesota High School AA championships the past two years while swimming for St. Cloud Tech. Last year, he won the 100 fly in 46.94 seconds, setting a Minnesota state record. That time places him as the fastest swimmer in the event for the class of 2026.

Davis won the 200 fly at the 2023 YMCA Short Course Nationals, representing the St. Cloud YMCA, with a time of 1:46.38, which is his personal best. Davis eventually switched to the Aquajets, where he helped them take third in the combined standings at the 2024 NCSA Spring Championship.

I am thrilled to announce my verbal commitment to continue my academic and athletic career at the University of Virginia! Thank you to everyone who has assisted me along the way, especially my family, friends, and every coach who has guided me throughout the years. Thank you to the coaches at Virginia for providing me this opportunity, and thank God! GO HOOS ⚔️

We ranked Davis as the #5 recruit in our first round of rankings for the 2026 high school class, owing to his class-leading time in the 100 fly and #3 time in the 200 fly.

Best SCY times:

  • 100 fly: 46.94 (best in class)
  • 200 fly: 1:46.38
  • 50 free: 20.88
  • 100 free: 45.43
  • 200 free: 1:36.74

Davis will join a Cavaliers men’s team that hasn’t been as successful as the women’s squad, which has won four consecutive NCAA championships. However, the men have been generating an enormous amount of recruitment momentum. When Davis arrives in Charlottesville, he will train with butterfly specialists Spencer Nicholas (#6 in the class of 2024) and Thomas Heilman (US Olympic butterflier, #2 in the class of 2025), as well as #1 Maximus Williamson and the rest of the Cavaliers’ stacked 2025 recruiting class.
