Just about 10 hours before Washington faced Rutgers in its first Big Ten road game of the season, the Huskies suffered a loss at linebacker.
He announced that he will redshirt for the remainder of the 2024 season and plans to enter the transfer portal before 2025. The 5-foot-11, 223-pound linebacker spent his first three collegiate years at San Jose State before joining Washington for the current campaign.
Parham’s decision allows him to preserve his final year of eligibility, as he did not take a redshirt season at San Jose State.
He appeared in four games for the Huskies—the maximum allowed before losing a redshirt—recording 11 tackles. Parham also made a key pass breakup on fourth-and-goal to stop Northwestern at the UW 1-yard line and forced a fumble against Eastern Michigan. Sixth-year senior safety and captain Kamren Fabiculanan referred to Parham as “another leader on the defense” on September 17.
In a post on his social media account, Parham clarified that his decision was not influenced by NIL factors and expressed gratitude to Washington’s coaching staff for the opportunity this season.
Parham joined Washington after a successful stint at San Jose State, where he played in 32 games with 24 starts, amassing 199 tackles, 5.5 sacks, three forced fumbles, one interception, and six pass deflections.
