Ole Miss baseball adds latest 2026 commit following weekend visit

Winston Pennant, a 2026 outfielder and right-handed pitcher from Sumner High School in Riverview, FL, stands at 6’3″ and 185 lbs. He has a large, athletic build with broad shoulders and room to add more strength. He ran a 7.20 in the 60-yard dash. As a primary outfielder, he gathers with one hand, employing a long arm action and a high three-quarter release, showcasing good arm strength and carry. On the mound, he works from the stretch on the third-base side, with a full arm swing to a three-quarter release point.

His fastball reached 89 mph, and his curveball hit the zone at 74 mph, though he’s refining his release point. As a right-handed hitter, Pennant has an upright stance with a high hand and back elbow. His full swing generates power, especially to the pull side, with live-game doubles registering 99 and 100 mph exit velocities, demonstrating real strength. He is also an excellent student.

Ole Miss will compete against Arizona in their season opener, with the first pitch scheduled for 3 p.m. CT. Other teams at the event include Clemson, Louisville, Texas, Oklahoma State, and Arizona.
