According to Kendra Andrews of ESPN, contract negotiations with both players are currently in progress.

Kendra Andrews reported that Warriors general manager Mike Dunleavy mentioned there are “positive conversations” taking place with the representatives of Jonathan Kuminga and Moses Moody regarding their rookie contract extensions. Dunleavy emphasized his intention to retain both players, expressing a strong desire to bring them back.

Both Jonathan Kuminga and Moses Moody are entering pivotal seasons where they must prove their value in the NBA. If the Warriors are unable to reach contract extensions with either player by the deadline, they will enter restricted free agency next offseason.

Kuminga was the 7th overall pick and Moody the 14th overall pick in the 2021 NBA Draft. While the Warriors are actively working to retain both players, ongoing discussions do not guarantee that a deal is imminent. According to Brett Siegel of ClutchPoints, Kuminga’s camp is seeking an extension similar to the deals received by Scottie Barnes and Franz Wagner, but the Warriors are currently hesitant to match that number.
