Texas Tech’s football team released its updated injury report, which included standout wide receiver Josh Kelly. Kelly, a transfer from Washington State who leads the team with 31 receptions and 376 yards this season, is listed as “questionable” due to an ankle injury.
However, head coach Joey McGuire expressed optimism earlier in the week, stating he’d be surprised if Kelly doesn’t play against Cincinnati this weekend. Should Kelly be unavailable, McGuire mentioned that Jordan Brown, Drae McCray, and Brady Boyd would need to step up in his absence.
Additionally, the injury report features other key Red Raiders, including starting linebacker Ben Roberts (shoulder), edge rusher Amier Washington (hip), and cornerback Bralyn Lux (thigh).
Texas Tech soccer back in the top 25
This week, Texas Tech’s soccer team re-entered the top 25, landing at No. 25 in the latest United Soccer Coaches Association poll. The Red Raiders recently earned an impressive 2-0 victory over then-No. 12 Oklahoma State in Stillwater.
Currently, Tech holds a 7-2-1 overall record and is 2-0-1 in Big 12 play. Under head coach Tom Stone, the team is riding a six-game unbeaten streak.
The Red Raiders will next take the field on Thursday evening at 7 p.m. against Kansas State in Manhattan, Kansas, followed by a Sunday road game at Houston at 1 p.m. Their next home match is set for Friday, October 4th, against Baylor.
