Breaking News: Dolphins Coach Drops Ground-Breaking QB News

The Miami Dolphins are facing a critical quarterback crisis. Last week, starting quarterback Tua Tagovailoa was placed on injured reserve after suffering a concussion on September 12 against the Buffalo Bills. To make matters worse, backup Skylar Thompson sustained a rib injury during Miami’s Week 3 loss to the Seattle Seahawks. Head coach Mike McDaniel emphasized that the next 48 hours would be crucial in determining whether Thompson can play against the Tennessee Titans in Week 4. “We have an important 48 hours to see where [Thompson’s] at,” McDaniel said. “We’ll take it day by day. There’s a lot on the table.”

nThompson completed 13 of 19 passes for 107 yards against Seattle, but if he’s unable to suit up for Monday’s game, the Dolphins might have to rely on Tim Boyle or Tyler Huntley. Miami is also considering adding outside help for quarterback depth. According to Cameron Wolfe of NFL Network, McDaniel confirmed that Tagovailoa will meet with outside neurologists this week but stated that nothing in their plan has changed. “The plan hasn’t changed,” McDaniel said. “It’s been executed. That’s where it stands.”

The Dolphins are urgently hoping for one of their backup quarterbacks to step up against the Titans, as starting the season 1-3 could be devastating.
