The Buffalo Bills are off to a blazing start in 2024, having defeated the Arizona Cardinals, Miami Dolphins, and Jacksonville Jaguars to begin the season 3-0. Their strong performance has surprised some NFL analysts who had predicted Buffalo would struggle this year.
Those concerns weren’t entirely baseless, as the Bills lost three key veterans in the offseason: Micah Hyde, Jordan Poyer, and Stefon Diggs. Diggs’ departure was particularly dramatic, as he essentially forced a trade.
After Buffalo’s commanding victory over the Jaguars, quarterback Josh Allen shared his thoughts.
Bills’ QB Josh Allen Makes Direct Insult Toward Stefon Diggs After Win Over Jaguars
According to Alex Hoegler of Total Pro Sports, after the game, Josh Allen subtly criticized Stefon Diggs while praising the selflessness of the Bills’ current offensive weapons. Via ESPN’s Alaina Getzenberg, Allen said:
“When guys buy into this and really understand, ‘I may not get the ball four or five times a game, but when I do, I’ll have opportunities.’ It’s great when you’ve got a group of guys who don’t care about the stats or touchdowns. In practice, we’ve adopted this mindset of, ‘Let’s do things the right way and find ways to win football games.’ That’s exactly what we’re doing right now.”
It’s well known that Diggs’ attitude had become an issue for the Bills. His frustration was evident during the team’s 2022 Divisional Round loss to the Cincinnati Bengals, where he famously yelled at Allen and left the locker room early after the defeat.
After three weeks of the season, Josh Allen has emerged as a favorite to win the NFL MVP award:
