News Update: Contract Tussle Jeremy Rejects Bruins Offer Lands New Deal With Another Team

Top goaltender and the Boston Bruins are in negotiations for a new contract that could significantly influence the goaltending market for years to come.

Unfortunately, the discussions have not been progressing well. The Bruins are aiming to offer him around $6 million per year, while he is seeking $10 million. The two sides appear to be quite far apart, with uncertainty surrounding both the length and financial terms of the deal.

Some speculate that the Bruins might need to trade Swayman, but Elliotte Friedman, speaking on the 32 Thoughts podcast, dismissed that possibility. Although he hasn’t talked to Bruins GM Don Sweeney, Friedman believes the team is not inclined to trade their franchise goaltender.

“I haven’t spoken to Don Sweeney, but my impressions are that the Bruins do not want to trade Swayman,” he stated.

This is encouraging news for Bruins fans, but the lack of a resolution remains concerning. Swayman is absent from training camp and has no intention of attending until he secures a contract. It seems the Bruins and their dedicated fanbase may be in for a challenging period ahead.
