Breaking: Nebraska Football Lands Commitment For Another Top Talented Prospect

The quarterback in the 2026 class has revealed his commitment to Matt Rhule and the Cornhuskers.

He is 5-foot-11, 215-pound junior, and Nebraska’s first 2026 pledge and does not appear in ESPN’s high school prospect rankings for the class.

He took over as starting quarterback at Georgia’s Buford High School after Dylan left for college, and he has led the Wolves to a 4-1 start this fall.

Dayton is younger brother to Nebraska freshman phenom Dylan Raiola. Dayton Raiola’s  devotion makes him the family’s latest arrival in Nebraska. Dominic Raiola, the Raiolas’ father, was a two-time All-Big 12 pick at Nebraska from 1997 to 2000 before spending 14 seasons in the NFL with the Detroit Lions.
Donovan Raiola, Dominic’s brother, has been Nebraska’s offensive line coach for the past three seasons after four years with the Chicago Bears, while Raiola’s older sister, Taylor, is a graduate manager in Nebraska’s recruiting department.

“THE LEGACY CONTINUES #OHANA #COMMITTED,” Dayton Raiola stated in a social media post.

Dylan Raiola was ESPN’s top pocket passer and the 11th overall talent in the 2024 class. He initially committed to Ohio State in May 2022, before reopening his recruitment later that year.

Dylan Raiola committed to Georgia on May 15, 2023, and he kept his commitment until he switched to Nebraska a few days before the early signing period began.

Dylan Raiola, the top prospect in Nebraska’s 2024 class, was formally designated the program’s starting quarterback on August 21. He led Nebraska to its first 3-0 start since 2016, until falling to Illinois 31-24 in overtime on Friday.

In four games, he has completed 72.2% of his throws for 967 yards, eight touchdowns, and two interceptions.

Dayton Raiola, unlike his brother, is a left-hander. Since his brother’s commitment to Nebraska, he has made numerous visits to campus, including attendance at the spring game and the Huskers’ Week 2 victory against Colorado.

Rhule’s incoming 2025 class includes Christian Jones, a top-100 outside linebacker, and four other ESPN 300 commits. As of Sunday, Nebraska’s 2025 class is ranked 23rd in ESPN’s cycle-long team rankings. Nebraska (4-1) visits Purdue in Week 5 after dropping out of the AP Top 25 on Sunday.
