New Orleans Saints tight end has been downgraded to “doubtful” , according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter. He has been dealing with a chest injury that he sustained during the Saints’ win over the Dallas Cowboys last Sunday. The injury occurred in the third quarter, and he had to go to the hospital, but he was able to return home with the team.
The Saints’ injury report shows that he did not practice . Head coach Dennis Allen commented on Friday, via Ryan McDonald of saying, “He’s great. He’ll be listed as questionable on the injury report and we’ll see how he does over the next couple of days. If he’s able to go, he’ll be out there, that’s for sure.”
The Saints’ versatile player, has started the 2024 season with eight carries for 53 yards and two catches for two yards. Known for his ability to contribute in multiple roles, Hill has accumulated over 700 yards rushing, passing, and receiving since becoming a key weapon under former head coach Sean Payton. Although the Saints will be without Hill for the upcoming game against the Eagles, their offense should remain strong.
The Saints have been dominant through the first two weeks of the season, averaging an impressive 45.5 points per game. They’ve secured blowout victories against both the Carolina Panthers and the Dallas Cowboys, with their collection of offensive weapons overwhelming opponents. Running back Alvin Kamara, wide receivers Chris Olave and Rashid Shaheed, and tight end Juwan Johnson have all contributed to the Saints’ early success. In their win over the Cowboys, the offense was so effective that they scored touchdowns on their first six possessions.
The New Orleans Saints racked up 432 total yards of offense in their recent game, despite quarterback Derek Carr attempting just 16 passes, completing 11. The Saints’ offense, led by offensive coordinator Klint Kubiak, has excelled in the run and pass game, with Carr looking rejuvenated through the first two games. Even without Taysom Hill, New Orleans has proven they can attack a defense from all angles.
Against the Cowboys, Alvin Kamara rushed 20 times for 115 yards and three touchdowns, while Rashid Shaheed showcased his speed with a 70-yard touchdown catch. Chris Olave averaged over 20 yards per reception, pulling in four catches. As the Saints prepare to face the Philadelphia Eagles this weekend, they will test their potent offense against a defense that ranks near the bottom of the league, third-worst in total yards allowed through the first two weeks.
