Breaking News: Dolphins Land Wild Blockbuster Trade For Super Bowl-winning QB

The Miami Dolphins’ season took a turn for the worse when Tua Tagovailoa sustained another concussion in Week 2’s blowout defeat to the Bills. With Tagovailoa on injured reserve and a comeback date unknown, the Dolphins may take a risk and trade for a quarterback before the trade deadline.

We all know Skylar Thompson isn’t Miami’s long-term solution. The Dolphins might continue to offer Thompson opportunities and see if it earns them a high draft pick next year, allowing them to bring in a new quarterback. However, tanking for a high draft pick when the Dolphins have so much skill appears to be a waste of a year.

Some may suggest that the Dolphins consider Bryce Young. After all, Young is still new to the game, and Mike McDaniel may be able to help him restore confidence. Former NFL quarterback Chase Daniel believes Young should be dealt, but not to the Dolphins.

In his three-team trade suggestion, Daniel proposed that the Panthers deal Bryce Young to the Rams, Los Angeles trade Matthew Stafford to the Dolphins, and both Miami and LA send a pick to Carolina. Got it? Okay, let’s proceed.

Chase Daniel says the Dolphins should trade for Matthew Stafford

I admire Daniel for going all out to please three separate teams. While the Rams would be foolish to engage in this trade (especially for so little), the Dolphins would be overjoyed to welcome Stafford to South Beach.

Stafford would undoubtedly have some exciting targets to throw to in Miami, which he does not have in Los Angeles right now because Puka Nacua and Cooper Kupp are both injured. Stafford would immediately have Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle at his disposal, who are arguably the best tandem in the NFL.

This move relieves the Dolphins of the burden to find a replacement for Tua right now, and they will have a Super Bowl champion quarterback playing snaps for them. Stafford would have no trouble passing the ball to Hill and Waddle, and the Dolphins would be right back in the AFC East title battle if the Rams were prepared to do something like this. While it’s doubtful that something like this will happen, never say never.
