Pittsburgh Steelers defensive tackle, suffered a knee injury during the team’s game against the Atlanta Falcons and was limited in practice Wednesday. It’s unknown when the injury occurred, but he has previously suffered a chronic knee problem.
Larry Ogunjobi recorded two quarterback hits and four quarterback pressures against the Falcons on Sunday. One of his pressures immediately resulted in an interception. Ogunjobi was still limited on Wednesday, so the injury is not expected to be serious for the veteran defensive tackle.
Ogunjobi stated after the win over the Falcons that this is the first season he has not been playing with major discomfort, which has allowed his game and explosiveness to shine.
The Steelers signed Ogunjobi to a three-year, $28.5 million contract in March 2023. This is the second year of that contract, and the Steelers are hoping that Ogunjobi’s health will help him return to the type of player he was in Cincinnati when they signed him in 2022. If Ogunjobi is limited during the week and game, the Steelers will most likely use more Keeanu Benton in subpackages and Dean Lowry and Isaiahh Loudermilk in base defense.
