Injury Update: South Carolina football receive more bad news

The South Carolina football availability report has seen some updates since its initial release.

The South Carolina head coach Shane Beamer has issued the availability report for the Gamecocks. The SEC recently required teams to provide injury reports for conference games and the South Carolina Gamecocks have submitted these reports.

The initial report listed offensive lineman Jakai Moore as out and defensive back Emory Floyd as doubtful. Defensive back David Spaulding, linebacker Bangally Kamara, and EDGE Gilber Edmond were deemed questionable, while EDGE Bryan Thomas, Jr. was considered probable. By Thursday, the report had been updated, moving Kamara and Edmond to probable status, though no new names were added.

In Friday night’s update, the report noted a change: Emory Floyd was shifted from “doubtful” to “out.” A final update will be provided 90 minutes before kickoff, but no major changes are expected before then.

Defensive back Zahbari Sandy is out for the season due to an ACL tear, and offensive lineman Aaryn Parks is likely to miss most of the season with a lower leg injury, but neither player was listed in the availability reports. Wide receiver Jared Brown, who left the Old Dominion game with an injury, does not appear on the report, suggesting he is healthy for this week. Other players who were slightly injured or not at full strength in the ODU game are expected to be ready for Saturday.

For Kentucky, the key injury concern is starting running back Chip Trayanum, who remains out with a broken hand. Rotational defensive back DJ Waller, Jr. will also not play, while defensive tackle Keeshawn Silver is listed as probable.
