BREAKING: Ole Miss Football Beat Four Elite Programs to Land Commitment for One of the Country’s Best Talent

One of the country’s best running backs will be back in Oxford. Madison Central (Miss.) High School running back Mikel Stephen intends to be at Vaught-Hemingway Stadium on Saturday to watch the No. 5 Rebels (1-0, 0-0 SEC) face the Middle Tennessee State Blue Raiders (1-0).

Stepen, a member of the 2027 class, has emerged as one of America’s top prospects following a summer camp tour in which he received offers from Ohio State, Georgia, Florida State, Florida, and Florida State. He ran the 40-yard sprint in 4.55 seconds during an Ohio State camp and was equally impressive at Ole Miss.

‌The weekend visit comes as Ole Miss continues its efforts to strengthen its recruiting pipeline and build on a successful 2024 season. The Rebels, who have shown significant progress under head coach Lane Kiffin, are eager to showcase their program’s facilities, coaching staff, and game-day atmosphere to Stephen.

Stephen has been a standout performer in his high school career, breaking multiple records and leading his team to a series of impressive victories. His skill set and athleticism have drawn comparisons to some of the top running backs in recent college football history. As he narrows down his list of potential schools, Stephen’s visit to Ole Miss will provide him with an opportunity to experience the campus and meet with the coaching staff firsthand.

The Rebels’ coaching staff, led by Kiffin, has been actively pursuing top talent to build a championship-caliber team. With Ole Miss currently ranked as a top contender in the SEC, securing a commitment from a player of Stephen’s caliber could significantly boost their recruiting efforts and future prospects.

Stephen’s visit will include meetings with the coaching staff, a tour of the facilities, and a chance to experience the game-day environment at Vaught-Hemingway Stadium. The Rebels will be hoping that the visit leaves a lasting impression and helps secure a commitment from the standout running back.

The recruiting battle for Stephen is expected to be highly competitive, with several top programs vying for his commitment. Ole Miss will look to leverage its strong performance this season, its vibrant campus life, and its promising future to persuade Stephen to join the Rebels.

As the weekend approaches, all eyes will be on Oxford to see how the visit unfolds and whether Ole Miss can make a compelling case for landing one of the nation’s top running back prospects.
