BREAKING: UNC Football Confirm Unexpected Setback as Star Suffers Mind-blowing Season Ending Injury

The primary narrative from the UNC football team’s victory over Minnesota was the injury that will keep starting quarterback Max Johnson out for the rest of the 2024 season.

Johnson shattered his femur and needed surgery, according to reports released on Friday. Mack Brown offered additional facts about Johnson’s injury situation during his press conference on Monday morning.

Brown told reporters that Johnson will undergo another treatment on Monday, since his return to Chapel Hill is still uncertain. The current belief is that Johnson will be able to return to campus in a week to two weeks, but there is no definitive answer at this time.

Right now, the focus is on getting Johnson healthy enough to bring him back to Chapel Hill. Brown not only wants him around the team but also doesn’t want him to miss too much in terms of his academics. Before that can happen, Johnson will have to recover a bit from his most recent procedure, as we all anxiously await his return to campus soon.

The UNC football team assigned an assistant trainer to Johnson during his recovery, and Brown also claimed that Minnesota head coach PJ Fleck paid the Tar Heels quarterback a visit.

While the injury is significant, Johnson is likely to recover fully. Brown expects Johnson will return to football and will have two years of collegiate eligibility (if he receives a medical redshirt).
