BREAKING: Kansas State Lands Blockbuster Commitment for Highly-Rated 5-Star Beating 3 Elite Programs

Top recruiting target, has announced his commitment to Kansas State for 2025, just after ending up his official visit to campus for the season opener versus UT-Martin.

Stanyer, an underappreciated defensive lineman from Grapevine High School in the DFW Metroplex, provides the Wildcats with a 6-foot-5, 240-pound defender with tremendous talent and a pledge that the Wildcats regard as a massive steal at his position.

The dynamic Texan impressed Buddy Wyatt and others at K-State’s Elite Camp on June 23rd, having received FBS scholarship offers from the Air Force, Army, and Texas State. Stanyer waited about a month for his offer to materialize, but K-State’s chase was already in full force.

Chris Klieman’s coaches and support staff members quickly secured a return trip to the Little Apple and set the stage to further impress the pass-rusher before his senior film began making the collegiate rounds, putting together a weekend to remember for the unrated edge.

“I hadn’t felt anything like it before,” Stanyer told GPC after his game day experience at Bill Snyder Family Stadium.

“I really just got to be around [players] and the guys they hang out with and really see what it’s like around there.”

Stanyer, a talent who is already familiar and active as an odd-man front for his GHS Mustangs, adds to a class that already has another neighboring edge in Dalton Knapp, who also roamed the halls at Grapevine before moving to All Saints Episcopal.

Stanyer is balanced in his pursuit ability and in holding assignments against the run, displaying exceptional bend for a prospect his stature as well as adequate power and strength for someone with significant opportunity for growth both physically and psychologically. Unrated or not, this is a commitment that is both far from a project and full of possibilities.

Filling the final of the Wildcats’ two immediate scholarship seats for senior departures Brendan Mott and Cody Stufflebean, GPC sees many similarities between Stanyer and another recent addition to K-State, Ryan Davis, who logged 14 excellent snaps in his Wildcat debut with Stanyer in attendance.

K-State’s 2025 total currently stands at 18, and after Stanyer is evaluated by 247Sports and others in the industry, he will remain among the nation’s top 50.
